While working with his family’s clothing business in , Egypt, our founder Mahmoud was troubled by the vast amounts of fabric waste produced daily. Determined to find a solution, he envisioned using discarded fabric to create something new. This led to the launch of an innovative prototype production model in Egypt, where recycled yarn is now at the core of MAG Clothing’s sustainable fashion revolution.

MAG Clothing’s prototype made its debut at Egypt’s largest bi-annual trade fair, Defile Creation, attracting wholesalers and retailers. The response was overwhelming— 150 buyers placed orders for 3,000 pieces, with reorders of 2-3 times per month, proving the market's strong demand for sustainable fashion solutions.

Mahmoud’s vision gained even more recognition when he submitted the proposal, "Embracing Recycled Open-End Yarn in the Fashion Industry," which was selected as a finalist among 80 proposals from 6 Mediterranean countries. This success came as part of the Cre-Active project, funded by the European Union’s ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Program, underscoring MAG’s commitment to sustainable innovation.

MAG Clothing’s efforts were further validated when the company was selected among the top 10 best-rated business models out of over 60 start-ups in the WE-MED AWARD. This accomplishment, as part of the STAND Up! project, highlights MAG's dedication to pushing the boundaries of sustainability in the global fashion industry.
